This study aims to describe the implementation of the Cooperative Learning model in Social Studies (IPS) instruction as an effort to improve learning outcomes and student engagement in elementary school. The background of this research arises from the low level of active participation and learning outcomes of students in Social Studies classes, which are still conventional and teacher-centered. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) consisting of two cycles, each including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of this study were 20 students at MI Miftahul Huda Kalirejo. Data were collected through observation of learning activities, interviews, and achievement tests. The results showed that the application of the Cooperative Learning model increased student engagement in the learning process, as indicated by improvements in collaborative activities, communication among students, and individual responsibility within groups. In addition, there was a significant improvement in Social Studies learning outcomes, with a 30% increase from cycle I to cycle II. The average success rate in cycle I was 60%, which rose to 90% in cycle II. Therefore, the Cooperative Learning model proved effective in transforming Social Studies learning into a more interactive, collaborative, and meaningful experience for elementary school students.
