Abstract

This research aims to explore the perceptions of English lecturers at Insan Budi Utomo University Malang regarding the integration of Information Technology (IT) in the learning process. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through questionnaires and in-depth interviews with 14 lecturers. The results reveal that the majority of lecturers have a positive perception of IT implementation, with 78.57% stating that IT is very important in English language learning. Lecturers acknowledge the benefits of IT in enhancing material accessibility, learning flexibility, and student engagement, especially through platforms such as LMS, Duolingo, and Canva. However, IT implementation also faces significant challenges including student dependence on technology (42.86%), internet misuse (42.86%), and limited network infrastructure (64.29%). To address these challenges, lecturers developed various strategies including downloading materials in advance, using personal data quotas, and sharing materials through WhatsApp groups. This study recommends the need for network coverage expansion, infrastructure improvement, and continuous training for lecturers and students to optimize technology integration in learning.
