EDUKASI KEBERSIHAN DAN KESEHATAN LINGKUNGAN SEKOLAH BERBASIS PARTISIPASI SISWA

Abstract

The activity with the theme "Education on School Environmental Cleanliness and Health Based on Student Participation" was carried out at SMP Negeri 1 Wewewa Tengah in 2025. This activity aimed to foster students' awareness of the importance of maintaining school environmental cleanliness and health through a participatory approach. The methods used included counseling and practical application. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in student behavior regarding cleanliness, discipline in waste disposal, and active participation in environmental activities. The school environment became cleaner, the learning atmosphere more comfortable, and a sense of collective responsibility was formed among students. This activity supports Lawrence Green's (1980) health behavior theory and Piaget's (1972) constructivist theory that active learning and social support can shape positive behavior. Thus, cleanliness education based on student participation proved effective in building environmentally conscious character and is worthy of replication in other schools.
