Mengembangkan Permainan Tradisional Sebagai Sarana Penguatan Identitas Budaya Indonesia di Kalangan Generasi Muda

Abstract

Traditional games are a national cultural heritage with educational, social, and cultural value. However, technological advancements and changes in the lifestyles of the younger generation have led to the decline of traditional games. This study aims to examine the development of the traditional coconut shell relay game as a means of strengthening Indonesian cultural identity among students at St. Augustine and Hippo Catholic University. The research method used was a qualitative descriptive approach through observation of game activities and participant reflection. The results indicate that the coconut shell relay game can improve student cooperation, sportsmanship, and awareness of local cultural values. This game is also effective as a culture-based learning medium in the context of physical education and student activities.
