Bullying is a term that is familiar to the Indonesian people. Bullying is an act of using power to hurt a person or group of people either verbally, physically or psychologically so that the victim feels depressed, traumatized and helpless. From data collected by the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI), bullying cases are still a terror for children in the school environment. In early 2024, KPAI through the Tempo.co daily had received 141 complaints of violence that occurred, especially in the school environment. In addition, according to data that can be accessed at SIMFONI-PPA, there were 20,803 cases with details of 4,588 violence experienced by male victims and 17,986 violence experienced by female victims. Meanwhile, the types of bullying that are often experienced by victims are physical bullying (55.5%), verbal bullying (29.3%), and psychological bullying (15.2%). For the level of education, elementary school students are the most victims of bullying (26%), followed by junior high school students (25%), and high school students (18.75%). That's just what's been recorded because we know that bullying practices are often found in various layers of the environment. It must be a shared concern about the magnitude of the impact of bullying practices.
