The low motivation and learning outcomes of students who still use conventional learning, resulting in less active student involvement in learning. Problem-Based Learning was chosen because it can improve student motivation and learning outcomes, and students can be active in learning. This study aims to determine the effect of the problem-based learning model on the motivation and learning outcomes of class X students on environmental change material. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample of this study was class X MA-At-Taqwa students with class X.C (as the experimental class) using the problem-based learning model and X.D (as the control class) using conventional learning. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, motivation questionnaires, and cognitive learning tests. Analysis used normality tests, hypothesis tests, and t-tests. The results showed that the problem-based learning model influenced student motivation and learning outcomes in biology subjects (sig. 0.000 <0.05). The conclusion of the study is that the problem-based learning model has a positive effect on student motivation and learning outcomes in biology subjects. It is recommended that the problem-based learning model be applied in subjects other than biology.
