The problem in this study is that the level of critical thinking skills is still low. The organism classification subject is one of the materials that is considered difficult by students because it has a fairly high level of complexity. One solution that can overcome this problem is to use a Problem-Based Learning model. The objectives of this study are to determine the influence of the Problem-Based Learning learning model on the critical thinking skills of 1st-year junior high school students in the organism classification subject. This type of research is a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental model of a pretest-posttest control group design, using a sample of 1st-year junior high school students. Furthermore, the data obtained was analyzed quantitatively, namely with the help of the SPSS version 29.0 application, and qualitatively. The results of the study showed that there was an influence of the Problem-Based Learning model on critical thinking skills of the 1st of junior high school students in organism classification subject. That is, a significance value was obtained on learning critical thinking skills, the result of sing. 2-Tailed was obtained of >0.001, this shows 0.001< 0.05. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of the Problem-Based Learning model on critical thinking skills.
