Abstract

Social studies learning at the junior high school level, which still tends to be textual and less engaging, encourages the need for innovative interactive learning media based on digital technology, such as learning videos developed through the Canva platform. This study aims to develop Canva-based video learning media for the topic of Economic Activities in Social Studies (IPS) for seventh-grade junior high school students. The developed media is designed to be visually appealing, present material communicatively, and easily accessible to students, both in class and outside the classroom independently. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model approach, but is limited to the Development stage. The validation process was carried out by two experts, namely a media expert and a material expert, to assess the feasibility and effectiveness of the developed media. The validation results from the media experts showed a percentage of 80%, which is categorized as "Valid" (suitable for use with minor revisions), while the validation results from the material experts showed a percentage of 90%, which is categorized as "Very Valid" (suitable for use without revisions). Thus, the Canva-based video learning developed in this study is considered suitable for use as a supporting medium in the social studies learning process, especially on the topic of Economic Activities in seventh-grade junior high schools. The use of this media is expected to increase student involvement and facilitate understanding of the material.
